What seeq. keeps,
and who sees it

seeq. is built to count people, not to know who they are. This page says what it stores, who can see it and what it never does.

What it stores

  • Counts per minute. How many people came in, went out and were in view on each camera. These are numbers, with no picture attached, kept 400 days.
  • Events, their pictures and clips. Every event the cameras report can keep one picture of that moment and, on Shop and Guard, a 12-second clip. That includes a person simply coming into view, whether or not anyone is alerted. Clips are kept for your plan’s days, 7 on Shop and 30 on Guard; Count keeps no clips. Events and their pictures are kept 7, 14 or 30 days, as the owner chooses (30 unless changed).
  • One picture per camera. The latest picture from each camera, so you can see it is working.
  • Reports. The figures of each report seeq. sends, and who it reached. They are kept as long as the site.
  • Requests sent to us. What you write in the contact form, and the site-check request saved when a site is added: a name, a phone number or email, the business and the message. They are not deleted by themselves, and they stay when a workspace is deleted. Ask us and we delete them.

A nightly job deletes counts, events, pictures and clips older than these times.

Who can see it

The members of your workspace, and the people and numbers you choose to send alerts and reports to. You add members, choose what each one can do, and remove them when you want. A viewer can look at everything and change nothing.

Alerts and reports go only to the people and numbers you add under Settings, WhatsApp and email, in the language each one picks: Sinhala, Tamil or English. They need not be members of the workspace.

Messages travel through the services that carry them. A WhatsApp alert goes through WhatsApp, run by Meta, with the event’s picture. Mail goes through Resend, our mail service.

What it never does

No faces, no face recognition, and nothing that sorts people by who they are. None of this is in any plan.

Never built

seeq. does not offer these at any site, on any plan.

  • Face recognition to identify customers, workers, residents or students

Sri Lanka Personal Data Protection Act. seeq. follows people only within one visit, without faces.

  • Age, gender, ethnicity or emotion estimation

Privacy and legal risk. Reports never split people by these traits.

  • Productivity scores for individual workers

seeq. reports on lines, teams or the whole site, never on one person.

  • Cameras in private spaces: toilets, fitting and changing rooms, treatment rooms, bedrooms

Privacy. Fitting-room features use a camera outside the room only.

  • Using seeq. as the only safety system for fire, drowning, blasting or medical emergencies

Safety-critical. Smoke and fire on camera is an extra warning and never replaces detectors.

  • Identifying children in any form

Minors need the strongest protection. Gate counts are totals only.

  • Traffic enforcement without the relevant authority

Only with the road authority, never alone.

  • Drowning detection

    Not offered: safety-critical.

Deleting it

Clips, pictures and counts are deleted by themselves when their days are up. An owner can choose 7, 14 or 30 days for event pictures, and delete the whole workspace with its sites, pictures, clips, counts and reports, under Settings, Privacy. Requests sent to us are deleted when you ask.

Anyone else, for example someone seen by a camera, can ask us what we keep about them or ask us to delete it: use the contact form and choose Privacy or deletion request.

Delete everything

Deleting the workspace removes every site, picture, clip, count and report at once.

You are an owner, so you can delete it from the General tab.

Delete the workspace
Settings, Privacy: the owner deletes the whole workspace from here.

Who runs it

seeq. is run by ApexLabs, a company in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka’s Personal Data Protection Act applies to the pictures and counts seeq. keeps for you. Questions about your data, and requests to see or delete it, go through the contact form.
